Prof. B. E. Pobedria was born in 1937 in Moscow. He defended his Candidate Thesis and joined the faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics in 1966. He is Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (MSU, 1971).

Since that time he has read the following courses of lectures: Mechanics of Continuous Media, Numerical Methods, Classical Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids, Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity, Tensor Analysis, Theory of Viscoelasticity, Composites Mechanics, Stability of deformation processes, Mathematical theory of Shells, Dynamic problems of the Composites Mechanics.

He has written more than 150 scientific works, including monographs and text-books: " The bases of the mathematical theory of Thermoviscoelasticity " (1970, together with A. A. Iljushin), " Lectures on the Tensor Analysis " (1974, 1979, 1986), " Numerical methods in Elasticity and Plasticity " (1981, 1985), " Composites Mechanics " (1984), " The Boundary Problem in terms of stresses " (1988, together with S. V. Sheshenin, T. Holmatov).
